Max's Spring 2013 Concert

Max had his 4th grade concert this week. He looked so grown up to me. Here are some pictures

Xmas Eve 2012

We enjoyed a simple Christmas Eve this year. Steve's parents were unable to join us :(. So it was just us 4 and my parents came over from Sue's, where they are staying. We ate, we talked, we played cards. It was pretty low-key, but fun.
Grandma with the boys.

Me and Max.

Ben played a little Euphonium.

All of us at the dinner table.

Halloween 2011

Halloween in Harvard has been postponed until Saturday. So since we lost power and are spending the night at the Mathieus we trick-or-treated there.

Wizard, Turtle, Skeleton and Ninja.

Snowtober of 2011

So as most know the whole north east was hit by a big snowstorm. Our area was hit pretty hard in that many trees or branches came down and power is out to most of the area. Harvard is supposed to get power back Thursday, but I'll believe it when I see it. Here are some photos of the snow and bent branches.

I can't really convey how many branches are precariously hanging in the backyard in pictures. We will need to have someone come look at them after everything gets back to normal. As of now the backyard is of limits to the kids.

Ben is at Nature's Classroom

This week Ben is at Nature's Classroom. This is a 5 day, sleep-away adventure. The entire 5th grade plus about 25 or more chaperones left Monday for Ivoryton, CT. It's about 2 hours south of here. It's probably harder on me than Ben, for him to be away from home. I'm sure he'll have a great time.

It's kind of like a summer camp. They learn all kinds of outdoors stuff, go hiking, sleep in dorms and bond as a class. Here are some pictures of them leaving yesterday.

So, we're here at home, spending quality time with Max, attending soccer practice and a makeup game. Max's team has been doing quite well. Max scored his first goal on Saturday in the rain. It was a great game.

More music

Ben is progressing nicely in band. They have learned "Hot Cross Buns". The director says that Ben sounds good. I wish he'd tell Ben, but he only told me. I go to the band practices along with about 3 other parents to help set up chairs, calm the kids down and just generally help keep the order.

Here is a video of Ben at home practicing the song. The video is over a week old, but I forgot to take a new video (see next blog entry to see why I can't take a new one for a while). Anyway, here it is:
